How It Works

IPTruth ingests BGP data from RouteViews, RIPE RIS, and direct peering sessions to maintain a real-time view of the global routing table. Every BGP update -- announcements, withdrawals, path changes -- is processed within seconds, giving you a live picture of internet routing.

RPKI validation runs against all five RIR trust anchors (ARIN, RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC) to verify Route Origin Authorizations for every prefix. Invalid or unknown RPKI states are flagged immediately, enabling detection of route hijacks, route leaks, and unauthorized prefix announcements.

Upstream, downstream, and peer relationships are continuously mapped from observed AS paths across hundreds of vantage points, providing comprehensive AS-level topology data updated in real time.
